Hitchhiked to the sea

Autostopem nad morze It would seem that a hitchhiking trip across Poland is impossible. Together with friends I decided to check it out personally. Our main target was to get to the sea, but before we got there ....

Our team included four people. Everyone had two weeks off. For a relaxing holiday we have chosen the sea. Unfortunately we were unable to decide in which city we will spend holidays and how we will get there. Finally we decided to move away from the typical stereotypes holiday. Thrown slogan was: hitchhiking through Poland. And so we did. Five days we spent on the road, and another six days lying in the sun.
Our hitchhiking escapade was very dynamic. We could not complain of boredom. We prepared a plan of the trip and we left Wroclaw- our City.

Day 1 Wroclaw-Poznan.
After a three-hour ride we arrived to Poznan, the capital of Wielkopolska. After check in at one of the cheaper guesthouses we went into town. You have to admit that it was a very exhaustive day.
we decided to visit the most important urban monuments in the city, such as Old Town, Ostrow Tumski, several churches, Park Sołacki and Town Hall. Poznan is a large city so we walked many miles. At the end of our trip we learned that we could use one of the ten hiking trails. All ideas are available on www.poznan.pl.

Day 2 Poznan-Gniezno.
Another city that we chose was Gniezno. Located not far away from Poznan, it also was on the list of our summer adventure. This time we decided to be clever and learned about the most interesting places. We chose the blue route: across the Wool valley from the Gniezno Railway Station through Gnieźninek- Winiary lake- Wełnica- Strzyżewskie lake- Church’s Strzyżewo. After more than 10 km we were tired, we went to the first pub for a cold beer. We terribly liked a climate and atmosphere of Gniezno. It's a great city.

Day 3 Gniezno-Bydgoszcz.
We decided to speed up a little bit. Straight from Gniezno, we got a chance to set off to the north, to Bydgoszcz. Since we focused at the historical places in the cities, also in Bydgoszcz we decided to explore the historical part of it, the Old Town. The route led us from the Public Library, the Cathedral, City Hall, beautiful tenements, Venice of Bydgoszcz, White Granary, the District Court, Garrison Church to Opera Nova. After several hours of walking, we went for a big dinner on the outskirts of town. Tumult, noise and tiredness slowly gave us the signs.

Day 4 Bydgoszcz-Gdańsk
When we saw the attractions of a big cities, we decided to move firmly towards the sea. And so from Bydgoszcz we arrived to Danzig. Leaving things in the rented guest house, we ran to the sea. After two hours of swimming, dinner and the relaxing break we went into the city. This time for a leisurely we visited Strongholds Gdańsk, Westerplatte and old streets of Gdańsk. Women in our group were delighted with amber exposed in showcases. Men, unfortunately, drew attention to the price of jewelry. Visit in Gdansk, was a fresh breath of the whole tour.

Day 5 Gdańsk-Gdynia / Sopot
On the fifth and last day we moved to Gdynia. There, we took a decision that, Gdynia, Sopot will be our destination. And so over the next few days we traveled between Gdynia and Sopot.
And how We spent your free time ... I leave to you to reflect.
After almost two weeks of relaxation and sunshine, we took the train in Gdynia, and we got in Wroclaw. Hitchhiking holidays were the best so far. And it was in Poland!
